Easter Sunday 2007
There was a good turnout at the 38th running of the Easter Sunday Road Race sponsored by LAS Security took place on April 8th 2007 on a sunny Easter Sunday afternoon.
The Mattie McGrath Trophy for the overall winner went to Paul Fleming of Rathfarnham WSAF who finished in a time of 19min 28sec, 2nd was Eugene O'Neill of Crusaders and John Eaves of Dundrum South Dublin was 3rd.
First Meath athlete to finish was Rory McDonnell of Dunboyne in 5th place.
The Dunboyne team of Rory McDonnell, Phelim Glynn, Paul Moran, Stephen Murtagh and Morgan McDonagh won the team event from Sportsworld in 2nd and Bohermeen 3rd.
Pauline Curley of Tullamore was the 1st woman to finish and won the Christy Kelly Trophy in a time of 21min 52sec, 2nd was Niamh Devlin of Dundrum and 3rd was Fiona McCann of Donore Harriers. First Meath woman home was Catherine Dunne of Dunboyne in 5th place.
Donore Harriers won the team event, Sportsworld were 2nd, Civil Service 3rd and Dunboyne represented by Catherine Dunne, Fiona Reid, Caroline Reid and Eileen Thoma finished 4th.

 Previous winners of the men’s race include:
George Hutton of Dunboyne, 1983;
Marc Van der Hoeven, Belgium, 1984 and 1987, who will return this year and is bringing a group of athletes from Belgium to compete;
Gerry Kiernan, Clonliffe, 1991;
Noel Cullen, earlier a winner in one of the children’s events won the event five times - in 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1998;
Glynn Tromans, Coventry AC in the U.K., 1997;
Mark Morgan, Wales, 1999;
Lezan Kimutai, Kenya, 2003 who went on to win the Dublin City Marathon in 2004 in a course record time of 2:13:08
Last year’s winner was Stephen Sharp of Belgrave Harriers in the UK.
 Amongst the women, previous winners include:
Josephine Murtagh, Dunboyne, 1979 who was the official starter this year;
Rosie Lambe, Knockbridge, who first won the race in 1984 and went on to win a total of 7 times, in 1987, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997 and 1998;
Rosemary Ryan, Bilboa, won twice, in 2000 and 2002;
Magdalene Chemjor, Kenya, 2001;
Catherina McKiernan, Annalee AC in Cavan, won the race in 2004 having taken second place in 2001.
Pauline Curley, Tullamore, won the race last year.
