National Track and Field Championships

Dunboyne AC had a total of 6 athletes at the National Track and Field Championships in Santry.

Pride of place must go to Padraig White who was defending his hammer title which he won last year.
Padraig threw 61.05 m to win by almost 2m.

James McCabe
threw 50.6 to come home in 5th place.

Michelle Pickelton was 8th in the discus and 11th in the hammer.

Dennis Delaney was 7th in the Javelin.

Rory McDonnell ran in the mend 5000m, he led the chasing group for most of the race but dropped
off in the latter stages to finish 16th in a time of 15.23

Morgan McDonagh ran in the Heats of the 800m.

Graded Meet

A new P.B. for 17 year Michael McCabe was the highlight of the graded meets in Santry last Wendesday night.

Jame also had a good night in the hammer with a hugh throw of 64.93 M, a personal best by a meter.

Both Jame and Padraig will be in action again this Sunday in the hammer at the nationals

Dunboyne AC would like to wish our thrower Padraig White the best of luck competing for Ireland in the European Team Championships in Budapest.


Padraig is currently the National Hammer Champion.







Well done Dennis Delaney on his first outing for Dunboyne AC last weekend competing on the Meath Team in the National Track and Field League in Antrim.

Denis finished third in the Javelin.
