Meath County B championships held in Cushinstown on Wednesday 11th June.
Dunboyne AC sent a small but successful team to the Meath County B championships held in Cushinstown on Wednesday 11th June.
Rachel Smith showed a clean pair of heels to her opponents in her 100m sprint, outclassing her opponents to win gold. She was then very unlucky in the long jump where she won silver having jumped the same distance as the winner.
Benjamin Buick was next in action in the boys U9 60m where he won the bronze medal.
Cathal Bailey won the boys U12 Long Jump and then took to the track to take silver in the 600m
Meath Country Relay Trials
Leinster Championships in Navan
At the Leinster U10/11/12 Pairs championships in Navan on 1st June, the Dunboyne team of Ben Davis and Darragh Costigan finished in bronze medal position in both the U12 High Jump and Long Jump competitions.

There were also good performances from Josh Tyrrell and Lorcan Conway in the U11 600m and Ball throw competitions.
In the Leinster club relays: U13 relay 3rd in 59.2 sec, John, William, Ben & Niall.

Please remember 2nd league night on this Wed 21st May Navan 7pm. We are leading the league table after 1st night so we need our athletes to compete in next 3 league nights so that we can remain top of the table. Well done to all who competed the first night. On Sat 21st May at 3pm Dunboyne Athletic Club will be hosting the County Team Competition U10, 12 and 14. We hope to have teams in all age groups and your support on the day would be appreciated. Entries for Leinsters will be finalised this week so if any athlete want to take part please contact their coach immediately
Sunday May 4th and 11th Meath County Championships in Navan
These are two very important dates in our calendar not only for our club but also for athletes themselves. It was a chance for them to wear the club singlet and compete for their club and more importantly get a chance to prove to themselves that their hard training during the year paid off. Unfortunately due to the Bank Holiday weekend and week off school a large number of our athletes were not available to compete. But more disappointing was the number of athletes who committed to going to the Championship but failed to turn up on the day (no explanation given) leaving the club paying out for unnecessary race entries and letting many relay teams down. Beside all that the athletes that did compete did themselves proud and the results prove that – we would like to congratulate each one for taking part.

Three athletes competed for Dunboyne at these championships. Pride of place went to Keith Doherty. Keith, a student of Belvedere College and native of Dunshaughlin cleared 3m in the pole vault, his favorite event, winning a silver medal. This follows on from winning silver medals in the past 2 years, U15 and then U16, for the same event. Sinead O'Kane finished 11th position in her 200m event. Sean Lacey finished 6th in the 400m event U19 in 55 secs. Well done to the three athletes.
